Phil Scolari is going to be a lot of fun in his new role as manager of Chelsea.
He's got a tough job because the Pensioners need to win trophies again rapid after last season's failures. But he's a tough cookie and he knows how to use his skills to maximum effect - and I'm not just talking about the football ones.
He's a funny guy too and not afraid to ruffle more than a few feathers. Who the hell does Frank Lampard think he is? Throwing a strop because Big Phil said he was staying at the Bridge. If I had my way you'd be on your bike already son! You're rapidly approaching your sell-by date and it's time for some fresh blood at the Bridge alongside Big Phil!
Not too sure about Deco, but if he can land Andrei Arshavin and one or two others - Cristiano Ronaldo included - there could be even more fun and games down the Kings Road this coming season.
I wonder whether Wayne Rooney would fancy a stint at the Bridge. He's not a happy man, at least he wasn't last season, either at Old Trafford or with England. While his problems may be of a personal nature, a move could be just what he needs. If Scolari fancies him he should ring Sir Alex and wind up the stroppy Jock even more than Real Madrid have managed to do!
I fancy Chelsea for the Premier League title this season, Inter for the Champions League and Leeds to finally start the climb back to the top in earnest by winning League One.
Inter must be sick of winning nothing but Serie A titles and Leeds, the team everyone loves to hate, really are too big a club to languish in the doldrums for too much longer. Come on you Tykes - get over Peter Ridsdale and start motoring!
As for the rest, well they're just that - the rest. But good luck to them and every success in whatever little way they want. After all, they're all part of football's rich tapestry and long may it remain so!

Scolari's SOOO great he won with Ronaldo, Rivaldo etc... Big deal.. most people would have. He's also failed to take a very talented Portuguese team to a final at LEAST 3 times... Hardly had to turn water into wine has he...

"Rooney and Ronaldo for chelsea - Anything is possible where Big Phil Scolari is concerned" - What utter nonsense. I'm embarrassed that I've even graced this with a comment. What planet are you on?

What a bladder, they should remove the ability to produce rubbish like this from imbaciles like you. Phil Scolari has no track record at club level in Europe. What makes you think he can convince Rooney or Ronaldo to join a two bit club with a tin pot stadium and an owner with a few quid. Because of his personality? Get real, if you cannot write intelligent stories with substance why the hell bother?

Lol, Rooney to Chelsea, thats hilarious...
by Peter on July 11, 2008
that is the most stupid thing i've ever heard. sorry. rooney is not going to leave one of the best teams in the world to join chelsea and ronaldo probably wouldnt leave for most clubs. he wants to join madrid cause that was the team he supported as a kid. no one would leave manchester to join chelsea.

With Ronaldo himself admitting his slavery at UTD, will MANU be able to retain the talent? I doubt! Chelsea's going to storm into the new season and Sir Alex's team may need to fear even the spurs! Arsenal and Chelsea are the forces to reckon with this season.

Dont forget that when Scolari was in charge of Brazil, they had lost 6 qualifying matches, havin only ever lost one before then, and they only just qualified for the 2002 WC. They were never a favourite for the trophy and morale would have been down after a qualifying campaign like that. what happend? they won the tournament, lookin really good doing it. So dont just say Scolari won with Ronaldo, Rivaldo etc, because he managed to instil them with desire enough to win. for me, thats all chelsea need, they have the talent, like Brazil did, they just need a guide. step up mr scolari

Sorry Stephen Brown,ERR - Scolari did manage to get Portugal to a final - albeit on home soil and they did lose to Greece but all the same they got further than we did.

Ok guys, yes I support Chelsea, but please,,, why are so many people biased simply because 1 idiot couldnt write a good article if he tried, we all know that there is no way Ronaldo or Rooney would join Chelsea, But that is becaus eof Sir Alex Ferguson and common sense (no Team will sell a big name to a Rival) However saying that, I do hope all the Man Utd fans and the likes took note of Chelsea's brilliant play against Portsmouth (y'know shortly before you Scraped a scrappy draw to Newcastle
