Martin Laursen of Aston Villa

Aston Villa FC v Liverpool FC

Sunday 31 Aug 16:00 (GMT 15:00)
Aston Villa looked in great shape after beating Manchester City on the opening day thanks to a Gabriel Agbonlahor hat-trick but their second Premier League game of the season didn't go so well – losing at new-boys Stoke 3-2. Liverpool have not played well in their two games so far, but they have won both of them and they may see this as a sign that this could be their season to challenge for the title. Fernando Torres was the match winner at Sunderland, Steven Gerrard the last minute hero at home to Middlesbrough, who will step up to the plate for this visit to Villa Park?
