I have to be honest about this one. Even though they've been excellent so far this season, i see them lose points over Christmas. If you look at their last four games they lost 3-1 in seville, won 2-1 at villa park (actually being the second-best team), drawing at st. James park and losing on riverside. This is a big dip in form. You could argue that they have their best players out, which is true, fabregas, hleb, flamini are all part of their midfield engine. But if you look at the other top flyers, they have had injuries as well, and are right up there, only few points behind Arsenal. United have had Hargreaves, Scholes, Rooney, Neville and vidic out already. Ronaldos 3 match ban, but they have the squad to compensate for key players, which Arsenal simply have not. However, i do think their team is good enough to win a title, but they should hope for one of the cups this year, most likely the carling or FA cup.

I find that laughable. Arsenal have 2 capable players for every position and if you were to bother looking it up you would see that.

nice article. i think the squad is not thin but just not experienced enough. hope the gunners win though as that will prove money cant buy everything.

I don`t really understand Andrew`s comment `that although we have had players out so have other teams who have coped better` but we are still top so we have coped pretty well.

well thats an intresting statement. due to a few injuries, and your fixtures list finally catching up to you. what i saw was a team which has handed group winners status to seville in the CL. which now means a heavy weight clash in europe. your away games(which had to be played at some point)teams that have a physical pressence on the field seem to have your number. like blackburn, middlesborough and newcastle, andwith arguably the most phsically well built team in the premiership up next for you, i think you will suffer again to them. and what you should be thinking is how after manchester united had such a bad start, and losses to teamslike bolton and man city, how can we be in the position of maybe surrendering the lead BEFORE CHRISTMAS. lets face it, there is a little competition after christmas which will only slightly hinder you and chelsea (spot the sarcasum) THE AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS)

To comment on it. Arsenal was 6 points clear of united two weekends ago. They are 1 point clear now, with a really hard fixture list coming up. Thats what i meant.
