Franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan brought together the cream of world cricket to take the IPL by storm. But it all turned sour as controversy off the pitch, and a lack of teamwork on it, sent the Bollywood star's boys tumbling out of the tournament. He couldn't have performed the script better himself.

It was a cruel twist of fate for Chelsea that a fabulous final was settled by penalties. But try persuading Sir Alex Ferguson and Co that John Terry's slip on the turf cost Avram Grant's boys the trophy. In the end, the better team won.
