A three-nil whitewashing of the Kiwi Rugby League team, some great performances by our world-class Track Cyclists, seven British world champions in boxing, James Toseland winning his second title... take your head out of the gas oven, Graham; it ain't all bad!

While we are here lets reflect on some of the other great British failiures of the year, we almost had a general election, we almost didn't have any data lost, we almost went a hole year without any funding scandals, perhaps the only thing that was truly doomed from the begining (Drawing comparisons from the football team) was the weather, just a shame that the Met Office have yet to work up the courage to fire the big man upstairs!

Perhaps the biggest achievers in British team sports were the Great Britain Rugby League team. They defeated New Zealan 3-0 in a Test series with one game being 46-0. The New Zealand Kiwis were ranked 2nd in the world behind Australia so its no mean feat to destroy them in such a way.
