Formula 1: Have Ferrari found the new Michael Schumacher in Kimi Raikkonen?
Ruthlessness, calmness, incisiveness and wet weather driving: Kimi matches up to Michael in almost every sense, but can he truly replace him?

An inevitable question in the mind of each and every member of the tifosi: Will Kimi be the next Schumi?
Well, the answer to this question is a tricky one. First, what made Schumi so special? Michael Schumacher, with 91 wins, holds the record for the maximum wins and a majority of those wins are with Ferrari.
Michael came into a listless Ferrari team in 1996, a team whose last champion was Scheckter in 1979. Michael built the team around himself: he won over the entire team with his talent. His outstanding driving commanded the team’s respect.
Soon, along with Jean Todt and Ross Brawn, Schumacher formed the most brilliant tactical team which won many a race for Ferrari simply by out-thinking the opposition. Such was the level of trust the troika had developed with each other that they would back Michael to pull off even the most improbable of feats like an unbelievable four-stop (yes, you read it right a four-stop) strategy in the French Grand Prix of 2004.

It would be difficult to compare the two as they are completely different personalities. I would safely say Ferrari will have good success with Kimi like the way they did with MS. But the question is will Kimi stick around for 6-7 years and win say a total of 7 titles. I doubt that!!! But what I like about Kimi is he is a breath of fresh air( not for his monotone responses) but just does not talk bad or comment about issues that does'nt concern him. All he does when he is in the cockpit is drive fast with minimal mistakes. I do agree that he will be strong in 2008 and show the world his "sublime" driving skills!!! BTW, a very ggood article!!!
