In my opinion, the best Formula 1 driver of all time is Ayrton Senna.
His rivalry with Alain Prost is considered the most heated in the history of the sport. Senna was an absolute star and a real celebrity of his time. He was sometimes compared to the great Juan Fangio, who is himself often referred to as the best Formula 1 driver of all time.
Senna's desire and determination were his tickets to victory. He was well known for his incredible will to win, which sometimes went too far. In 1990 in Suzuka, he purposely crashed into Prost’s car at the first corner so as to eliminate both from the race, meaning he would win the world championship.
But we shouldn't forget that he also had a human side. He was a deeply religious man and he formed the Ayrton Senna Foundation for helping the poor.

Senna was great. Schumacher was great. Jimmy Clark was great. Rudolf Carraciola was great. Tazio Nuvolari was great. But the greatest driver ever was Juan Manuel Fangio, hands down.
