The most powerful man in motor sport, is in his fourth term as president of the FIA but likely will not be in power for much longer. From now on it's damage limitation.

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is the association that represents the welfare of motoring bodies it is also the governing force of the Formula One and numerous other top level motor competitions. They have now summoned an independent authority to look in and compile a necessary report on the extreme sexual allegations that may cost the President, Max Mosley, his position at the top of the motor world tree. He will face a never before style hearing in front of the governing body’s assembly, to be held in Paris on June 3 in which a vote of confidence will be taken.
So what happened Max? It has been alleged by now countless reporting and media sources that Mosley engaged in a sadistic role play sex romp, in which he was believed to have been spanking a prostitute and counting the strokes out in German. The News of the World claimed it was compelling evidence of a Nazi style fantasy in which Mosley was playing the part of none other than Adolf Hitler.
Mosley, said by some to be the single most powerful man in the world of motor racing, has claimed that he spoke in German not because he was in the caprice of fantasy, but because the prostitutes involved were German speakers. Mosley has since taken legal action against the News of the World.
Despite this offensive subject and countless calls to resign, astonishingly, Mosley is actually on the legal offensive and has assembled a case that focuses on invasion of privacy, and the simple belief that he is the victim of a deliberate and calculated personal attack. At this stage it is clear that while he is denying the context, he cannot back out of the simple fact that the head of the FIA was caught in a sexual orgy, and now the world knows about it.

Mosley should certainly resign and should have done so weeks ago rather than cling on shamelessly to power. He is a married man who has been publicly exposed as a person who likes to indulge in fantasies involving the beating and torture of women in a German prison camp scenario which most normal people (and I don't mean the the high paid barrister the FIA have hired in what might be a cynical Mosley whitewash trick) would associate with the Nazis. As Mosley is head of the body which is there to protect the image of F1 he should realise that his image is inconsistent with that and damages his sport. What's more, his privacy complaints are an attempt to divert attention from the fact that if a well-known figure cavorts with 5 prostitutes he is recklessly exposing himself to blackmail attempts or sales of the story to the media. Mosley has only himself to blame and his refusal to accept reality shows his poor judgement, arrogance and love of power.

The fact is: when you are the head of a large international organization, your private life is related your public life (ask Bill Clinton). I say Max must go and he should have his Viagra taken away for at least a year!
