The Mighty Vodafone Warriors might have pulled of the biggest upset in rugby league history after beating the Melbourne Storm 18-15 in the dying minutes to become the first team to beat the minor premiers after being the last-place team. But the question is: Are they actually going to beat the Roosters and go to the semis?
Well, I think they deserve to win. They have played some fantastic football in the past couple of months - which was emphasised in the win in Melbourne. But what do they have to do on Friday? Well, they have to keep playing the game that they play best, giving the ball to Manu Vatuvei, Jerome Ropati and Steve Price and Nathan Fein.
The Warriors have to be quick in the ruck because if they get slow ball the Roosters might pounce on that. Also, during the Storm game they gave away too many penalties during the second half. If they continue to do that, then the opposition are going to pounce on it and score tries. They will also have to make sure they make their tackles.
For the Roosters to win, they have to play the Roosters game we know so well. They need to make the big tackles and not let the Warriors get into the game. They need to give the ball to Antony Minichiello and Braith Anasta because those guys are deadly at the back.
It should be a fantastic night and the crowd should be 30,000-plus. So get down there early and maybe sit and watch the under-20s and pre-game entertainment. And let's give Ruben Wiki a proper farewell because, I tell ya, he deserves one.
So come on guys - get down there and support the Mighty Vodafone Warriors!
