Will the cream continue to rise in Super 14?
Wins for the top four will cement their place in the finals – a defeat for any of the pursuing pack will likely finish their season.

Round 10 saw the two front-runners lose for the first time – but Canterbury need only one bonus point win to secure a finals berth. But any team ranked second to ninth could still either drop out or move into the top four.
Chasing teams such as the Stormers, Chiefs, Waratahs, Hurricanes and Brumbies are all in solid form and have shown championship credentials. Each of these teams has shown ability to defeat the opposition in unique ways. The Blues and the Force cannot afford to lose this round if they wish to compete later in May – and are looking far from title vintage. Let’s preview the games!
SUPER 14: Week 11 (Home team first)
Crusaders (1st) Best defence in 2008 v Blues (7th) Third worst form of any team in last six weeks: The tournament’s pace-setters showed their mortality last week with a loss against an attacking outfit and aggressive rush defence. Canterbury are still clear of the pack, but the rudderless Blues are playing for their lives and have made changes, with All Black Isaia Toeava dropped and speed merchant David Smith handed his first start. The six-time champions showed vulnerability to a solid game plan and physicality at the ruck – two areas the Aucklanders have not shown this year. This is the time of year when Canterbury show their title winning class. Verdict: Canterbury’s poise to outlast the Blues desperation by 12. Last year: Blues 34 Crusaders 25
