Goodness mercy, it's 100 Tests for Percy!

Percival Colin Montgomery is an odd name for a rugger bugger and Percy, the Namibian-born Springbok, has had his fair share of critics in his time. The blond full Monty swizzled his way into rugby in 1997 with highlighted and lowlighted hairdos never before seen in the South African game.

He was an instant hit with the ladies, but it took a little longer for diehard Bok supporters to give the flaming fullback any credit. Now, he's almost reached the 100-Test milestone!

I personally, with raised eyebrow, have a number of questions about how Percy has managed to clock up that record and become the first Springbok in history to achieve this amazing accomplishment.

Skirting around the whole Namibian thing, I remember 'hating' Percy. His dainty white boots and peroxided coiffeur really didn't quite do it for me. The man was a poof! An oddity of rugby and somebody better suited to clubs called 'The Blue Note'.

Be that as it may, here's Percy on number 99. A miracle, maybe, but the man does deserve some credit. I looked up his stats and found he has more than answered his critics. In a fashion not too unlike those bullied kids put down on school playgrounds, Percy has shown a steadfast determination to reply: 'I'll show you who's a faggot!'
