you never write off the aussies, but you'll have to rank them behind the AB, Springboks, french, and the irish and in that order

I agree that the ABs didn't turn-up in the semi of 2003. But my recollection of the 1991 semi against Australia, after Australia they scraped past Ireland in hte quarters, was a no show also. And the loss to the French, who were saved by a Paddy O'Brian penalty try against Fiji in the quarters well, Jonah showed-up, Jeff Wilson was well and truely on holiday, & Kronfeld must've been stoned.
I agree, the ABs didn't 'turn-up' in the semi of 2003. But they didn't 'turn-up' to 1991 semi against Australia, either, after Aussie had scraped past Ireland in the quarters. The loss to France in the 1999 semi, follows the same pattern, as France were saved from defeat against Fiji in the quarters by a Paddy O'Brian penalty try. Jonah showed-up to the game and played well; but Jeff Wilson & Josh Kronfeld must've shared a joint before the game. Jeff looked terribly pale. He had no idea what was going on, I'm sure.
