Do not forget Bath beat Wigan at twickers and Sale beat Saints a few years ago. League will do anything to have there names in the paper.

The sport with no coverage clearly humiliated the union boys and shamed your game.... maybe improving it in the long run? As a League fan I hoped so. I'd much prefer this country to have more than one sport worth watching!!! Unfortunately until Rah Rah cuts out the rucks, mauls, scrummaging technicalities and number of players per team, your sport is destined to tedious semi-popularity!

If the 2003 World Cup Final wasn't exciting enough for ya - then good, Union doesn't need fans like you! As an ex-Union forward, rucks, mauls and set pieces are much more fun than tackle, stop, roll the ball back; tackle, stop, roll the ball back; tackle, stop, roll the ball back; tackle, stop, roll the ball back; tackle, yawn, stop, yawn, roll the ball back

Matey, if you are a rugby union forward, then your thick comments are justified. Kick and clap, with the ball in play for about 10 seconds, even in the ru world cup final, means that thick, fat, elderly guys can call them selves "forwards" and say that union is more exciting than league. You wouldn't last 5 mns, which is about right for the amount of time anything actually happens in union.

There's a simple reason RL players are more skillful - they have the ball in hand much more often. RU players are either playing push & shove on the floor or kicking into touch, with the occasional run. I've played both and the fitness and skill levels in RL are far, far higher than those in RU. As Graham Lowe said, "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a triple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union. But I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league."
