Tottenham boss Juande Ramos had the weekend off and, according to some sources, he has spent the time planning multiple transfer raids. The three players for today are as follows.First up we have long-term target Dani Jarque, of Spanish side Espanyol. The defender has apparently been high on Ramos’s wish-list since he arrived at White Hart Lane. An £8m bid has been made and according to reports a signature is close to being penned on the deal (News of the World).I have to say this is an odd one – having already spent £20m on good defensive signings in January, does Ramos need to add more to his squad in this area? One thing for sure, Jarque is keen for the deal to happen. He said: "My opinion of Ramos and the Premier League is very positive."The next player linked with Spurs is an interesting one – they are said to be chasing Portsmouth veteran goalkeeper David James (Mail on Sunday).Clearly Spurs are after a keeper, as Paul Robinson is seemingly not part of the new manager's plans and Radek Cerny is not a first choice keeper. Veteran James is back as England No.1 under Fabio Capello and is in the form of his life at Pompey. He is also supposedly out of contract in the summer! So the question is, would James opt for a new challenge at White Hart Lane? Harry Redknapp may find it tough to keep him at Fratton Park. The third and final member of this triumvirate is Werder Bremen midfield ace Diego who Ramos expects to sign in the summer (News of the World). The 22-year-old Brazilian international packs one hell of a punch in goalscoring terms, something that Tottenham lack from midfield at present. However, the former Porto player, valued at £12m, is also being courted by Liverpool, Juventus and Real Madrid.

Signing David James is hardly looking at the bigger picture, however he could be good for a champions league persuit next season and has certainly upped his game this season. Knowing our luck though, he will probably go back to being calamity James, we will sell Robbo and he will find his form again!

man u got lucky and arsenal sunk....last year all we had was a keeper and no back line, robo even score a goal. but his lack of respect for the team cannot be excused. a very well protected james is better.(calamity free.lol) if robo isn't busy he's not as sharp, but james is. ramos is buying players for his style of what hotspurs should be. I see inter defence and man u attacking next year.. beautiful.. lol

i really think this is little more than the medias normal bullshit production line. Why would Ramos choose to sign a player who is so old? James if bought would only be number two and if im honest i would prefer Cerny to stay on and we buy that Italian we're linked with.

I think the David James story has no legs... honestly, do you really think he and Harry will break up their love-affair? I don't think so, and I'm sure Ramos/Comolli would be all-too aware of this... apart from which, signing a keeper heading for 40 goes wildly against Spurs' transfer policy. I just can't see it happening. My personal feeling is that I'd rather we didn't sign James. Sure, he's having good form now, but how long will that last? Once his form dips at his current age, it will most likely have dipped for good. The Jarque story looks to be one that Jarque is keeping alive, and this Diego one, I've only head today. A Sunday. Classic day for transfer rumours.

Yup, i agree with Dougie. We should be signing younger players as they themselves need time to adjust with our plays. Furthermore, we should be thinking of longer term players which they had signing on to.

I would definitely go for these players because i've seen Diego playing for Santos/Soa paulo when he was with robinho and he would turn the midfield ,as for jarque we need defensive cover for uncle ledley he needs serious r&r from his knee injury, and after the defensive crisis we currently keep on getting our players in defence injured, that has got to be sorted out by next season. Here is one for the books carlo cudicini he is one of the best goal keepers not in a first team so trust me everyone knows under Ranieri/Murinhuo he was outstanding so why he is he number two because of cech so believe me he is as good as maybe even better than cech, its just that cech has been solid, so for experience and defensive/agility prowess definitely cudicini one of the best goalkeepers to play in the premiership for sure. buy him before someone else, does and Paul Robinson the choice is yours if you want to fight for your shirt?. As for david james no disrepect no chance not because he is not good goalkeeper but because Carlo is a better keeper trust me.Plus IT WILL SAVE US A FEW BOB TOO TO BUY OUT THE REAINDER OF HIS CONTRACT. Many times I have rued the time he played against us and would not budge plus he gets all players doing there jobs he is a proper goalie he's got big hands and he knows the premiership like the back of his hands, I ve hated him for years buy him. He is definitely calm under the sticks and we need that especially when it comes to set pieces. and He can speak english that is my recommendation you do the maths. jarque I have never seen him play so no comment. As for radek sign him on another contract because to stay with a team for three years and be back up to paul robinson smells of loyalty so i will definitely sign him for another two years permanent contract and then one goalkeeper copming from our youth academy that makes in total 3/4 depending on paul robinson the choice is yours or Mr Ramos, I call him mr because i dont want to get on his bad side and I WANT HIM TO TEACH ME SPANISH. yours The one true Tottenham supporter P.S. AND HE CAN SPEAK LATIN

Not saying we should sign this guy but the keeper for Slavia Prague had a blinder for them against us last week. If it wasn't for those string of saves they would have been dead and buried.

i wish the team a success
