At times last summer, it looked like Morten Gamst Pedersen would be leaving Blackburn Rovers. He was courted by a wealth of clubs seemingly keen to cash in on his talent. Mark Hughes managed to keep the Norwegian at Ewood Park but the speculation is beginning to increase again regarding a move to Liverpool (various).

Given the Anfield team's recent run of poor form it is no surprise that yet another target has been linked with a move to the club.

The need for Pedersen has probably never been more relevant with the current wingers experiencing problems. Ryan Babel, for instance, is probably still better used as a super-sub until he comes to full speed at Premier League level. The young Dutchman has a great future but it is too soon to rely to heavily on him.

Then, of course, we have Harry Kewell - and less the said about him the better. Blackburn are having another decent season under the Welshman and no doubt Hughes will once again be keen to stave off the interest of ‘bigger’ clubs such as Liverpool, Spurs and Everton, who have all been linked with the 26-year-old in the past. But can Sparky keep Pedersen for much longer?
