Rumours: Arsenal to launch £50m Eto’o bid?
The Barcelona striker has a special admirer at the Emirates - and Cesc Fabregas might just talk Arsene Wenger into making a mega-bid for the star he describes as ''a real winner''.

Yes, it’s a rumour that's been doing the rounds for some time - but it's back on the table apparently. Not least because Arsenal’s current top talent wants it to happen.
Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto’o is apparently the one player Cesc Fabregas wants to see plying his trade at the Emirates (Daily Telegraph) The Spanish midfield dynamo has urged Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to fork out the £50m valuation to pick up the Barcelona man.
The time could be right for this deal to happen; after all the Gunners are rolling in money right now and, let's face it, Eto’o is quite clearly one of the best strikers on the planet. Still only 26, the former Real Madrid man has netted an amazing 78 goals in 122 Barca games. No wonder, then, that Arsenal’s No.4 is offering such mighty praise.
"If I was asked which one player I would like to see at Arsenal, it would be Samuel Eto'o,'' says Fabregas. ''He is a phenomenal striker, he's ambitious, he runs, he works for the team, he scores well and he's a real winner. I would love to have him on my team."
So, Arsene, why not put in a cheeky bid? By all accounts things are problematic at the Nou Camp right now with in-fighting amongst the top table talent and boss Frank Rijkaard.

Cesc's wish is Wenger's command

I wondered if any rumours would percolate after Cesc's comments. 50 million for one player i doubt Arsene would double his total expiditure on one player however good he is. If Eto came on the market i'm sure a bidding frenzy would ensue, with Chelsea able to top any bid.

Am i the only one that remembers Wenger saying that he was offered Eto'o as part of the deal for Henry but decided against it and turned it down???!!!! Why then would he go back to barcelona, ask if he is available and then pay over the odds for him???? Pure fiction....
