Rumours: Arsenal star Diaby in Vieira swap?
The former Gunners legend is said to be unhappy at Inter Milan - and the gossip merchants believe he could be on his way back to north London in a cheeky exchange deal.

Abou Diaby is apparently heading for Inter Milan as Roberto Mancini looks to replace long-term fitness concern Patrick Vieira (Tuttosport).
The question is, could the former Arsenal legend be coming back to north London? Of course it’s a cheeky suggestion but if the Serie A side really do consider the French World Cup winner to be nearing the end of his time at the San Siro, then maybe a swap-plus-cash deal is not so far-fetched.
Surely Gunners fans would be delighted at such a move. The form of 21-year-old Diaby has been patchy and athough he has a bright future, is it a future Arsene Wenger would consider a viable loss as part of a deal to bring back Vieira, who is said to be unhappy in Milan?

Yes i read about Diaby's possible move to Inter, if Vieira did leave Inter i dare say he wouldn't mind a move back to Arsenal, what do other Arsenal fans think?

Wenger - who is notoriously tentative about handing contracts to over 30s - interested in bring back Vieira - a player who he let go because he - correctly, like with so many other players - identified he was past his best? Not a chance.

well i think arsenal shouldnt bring back Patrick Vieira because there are young players that are steping up and can play much. like fabregas he start he arsenal carred when he was 17 and lok at him now he is one of the best midfiler i ever seen at arsenal and i dont think that vieira can play over fabregas

Vieira was a great captain for Arsenal for many years. However, he was initially shipped out because he was seen to be at his peak and on the tail end of his career. Although Arsenal have lacked his solid leadership since, I can't see Wenger bringing back Vieira after freezing out veterans Gilberto and Lehmann to make way for what are seen as more up side for the future players. Personally, I feel Diaby will be a great player. He just needs the chance to get a run of games. With rumours of Flamini to Juve also surfacing, I'd find it hard to believe Wenger would allow both Flamini and Diaby to depart.
