New Zealand were on course for a big total after Lou Vincent and Ross Taylor both smashed half-centuries in their tri-series one-day international against England on Tuesday.
* New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming won the toss and elected to bat first on another hot day at the WACA in Perth.
* The Kiwis made two voluntary changes to the team that lost narrowly to Australia on Sunday, with fast bowlers Shane Bond and James Franklin coming back in for Mark Gillespie and Kyle Mills.
* England retained the same side that were thrashed by the Australia last week after Michael Vaughan, James Anderson and Jon Lewis all failed fitness tests.
* England's seamers make a sloppy start, bowling at least one wide in each of the first four overs to help New Zealand get off to a flying start.
* Liam Plunkett finds his line in the fifth over to trap Fleming lbw for 15 and make the breakthrough. 32-1.
* New Zealand race past 50 after just 8.2 overs but lose their second wicket shortly after when Peter Fulton edges Plunkett to wicketkeeper Paul Nixon for 15. 53-2.
* The Kiwis pass 100 in the 20th over before Vincent and Taylor bring up their 50-partnership off 64 balls.
* Vincent survives a dropped catch by Ian Bell on 33 to be the first to reach his half-century, passing the milestone off 73 balls with a deliberate guide through the vacant slips area.
* Taylor brings up his fifty in the next over off 64 deliveries with a quick single off Jamie Dalrymple.
* Taylor smashes Paul Collingwood over midwicket for six but the bowler gets the last laugh when he dismisses next ball for 71, caught by Monty Panesar. 190-3.
* Panesar gets a wicket with the ball when Craig McMillan dances down the pitch and is stumped by Nixon for 11. 213-4.
* New Zealand lose their third wicket in seven overs when Vincent holes out to Dalrymple at mid on for 76, giving Plunkett his third wicket. 219-5.
* Brendon McCullum lifts Panesar over long on for six but the left arm spinner gets his man in the same over when he is caught in the deep by Andrew Strauss for 19. 246-6.
