New Zealand raced to 77 without loss from their first 11 overs in reply to England's 270-7 from their 50 overs of their tri-series one-day international against New Zealand in Brisbane on Tuesday.
* The winner of the match will play Australia in the best-of-three finals series.
* England won the toss and chose to bat first on a hot and humid day at the Gabba.
* New Zealand retained the same side that lost to Australia in Melbourne on Sunday while England made two changes to the team that beat Australia in Sydney on Friday.
* England captain Michael Vaughan returned to the team after missing the last five matches with a hamstring injury, replacing Lancashire opener Mal Loye, who was struck in the face trying to sweep Glenn McGrath in Sydney.
* Paul Collingwood also replaced Essex all-rounder Ravi Bopara, who made his debut in Sydney.
* England made a poor start to their innings when Ed Joyce played out a maiden to James Franklin then Shane Bond bowled Vaughan for a second-ball duck in the second over with a perfect inswinging yorker. 1-1.
* Ian Bell struck the first boundary of the innings when he dispatched a full toss from Franklin through the covers in the third over then flicked him through midwicket for another four in the fifth over.
* Joyce, who completed his maiden one-day international hundred for England in last week's win over Australia, racked up his first boundary when he drove a Franklin half-volley through the covers.
* Bond captures his second wicket when he tempts Bell with a wide ball that he edges straight to Scott Styris at second slip for 12. 28-2.
* Joyce smacks Mark Gillespie down the ground for his fourth boundary to bring up the England 50 in the 13th over but throws his wicket away in the next over when he flashes a wide ball from Franklin and edges to wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum on 26. 52-3.
* Andrew Strauss starts to pick up the run-rate, hitting four fours and one giant six off Gillespie over the midwicket fence.
* Collingwood is also showing signs of aggression but survives a let-off on 18 when all-rounder Jacob Oram drops a return catch.
* Collingwood flicks left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori over long-on to bring up the England 100 and the 50 partnership with Strauss in the 22nd over.
* Styris makes the breakthrough when he bowls Strauss for 55, ending a 103-partnership. 155-4.
* Andrew Flintoff smashes two fours for a quickfire 17 off 15 balls before he holes out to Franklin in the deep off Bond. 191-5.
* Collingwood and Jamie Dalrymple bring up their 50-partnership for the sixth wicket off 43 balls before Collingwood reaches his century off 118 deliveries.
* Bond captures his fourth wicket when he bowls Collingwood for 106 with the batsmen seemingly distracted by Dalrymple dropping his bat at the non-strikers end. 250-6.
* Wicketkeeper Paul Nixon is bowled by Gillespie for a second ball duck. 251-7.
* Dalrymple finishes 29 not out and Liam Plunkett 15 not out as England finish their 50 overs with 270-7.
* New Zealand made a flying start to their reply when Plunkett bowls five wides in the opening over, including one that races away to the boundary rope.
* Stephen Fleming and Lou Vincent plunder the England attack to bring up the New Zealand 50 in less than seven overs.
