Queensland centre Lloyd Johansson has been suspended for two matches after pleading guilty to a dangerous head-high tackle on Australian team mate Stirling Mortlock during a Super 14 match at Brisbane on Saturday.

Johansson was sin-binned after he instinctively threw out an arm and flattened the ACT Brumbies captain and ordered to appear before the SANZAR judiciary on Sunday.

A dazed Mortlock was forced to leave the field but was not seriously injured and Queensland won the match 6-3 when Julian Huxley kicked the ensuing penalty.

The judicial officer accepted that Johansson's actions were unintentional and he was shown remorse but the tackle still warranted a penalty of two matches.

"I think we had a fair and just hearing," Queensland coach Eddie Jones told reporters. "Lloyd is very remorseful and there was no malice intended."

Johansson's suspension completed a miserable weekend for Queensland who are also resigned to losing Wallaby prop Stephen Moore for at least four weeks to a knee injury.
