Good to see a good NBA story, well done Greg keep em coming!

Greg, you say at first that the Spurs lower the TV ratings because they are not an entertaining team and then you say that you support a taller rim because not so many players will be able to play above the rim if its 11ft high (a thing that I doubt with the athletes playing the game nowadays). Isn't it a contradiction? A team like the Spurs will be one of the few that will get benefits from a taller rim. The main problem regarding the TV ratings is that San Antonio is a small market for the TV media (if I remember correctly the 40th in the US) and they played Cleveland (another mid-size media market), the NBA executives will give an arm and a kidney to have a LA-NY final every year so to boost their ratings but they are not able to force it. Long life the technical and skilled teams (but that's because I'm european and I like b-ball players not athletes who happen to play b-ball)

It is the most unimaginable contradiction and that is exactly why I emphasized it. The NBA has been marketing itself with superstars long enough to make today's game a clash of individuals. They are now trying to get the TEAM concept accross with the no. 1 flagship being Phoenix and the Spurs being not far behind. Everybody loves to watch the Suns, but the Spurs? And I still don't know why. I don't even know why even I don't like to watch them, and I'm the type of fan who rewinded the tape a million times to see Stockton and Malone performe the perfect pick-and-roll (which most consider dull as hell). It must have something to do with their personalities. As far as the ratings are concerned, it is mostly an effect of the smal-markets involved, and the Sopranos final episode airing during game 3 didn't help either...
