I love how the author highlights the fact that the flyers finished worst in the league last season when they've been one of the more successful teams in historyof just 40 years (thats alot less time the the phillies forever of 125 years, doYYY!!). And us "optimistic fans" call them the broad street bullies because they earned that name through gaining our respect with their talent--unlike some other teams around here.

This article is written by some frog from France who joined the site this month. It's not a big deal, he's a loser.

The Phil's didn't lose two of three ,they won two of three from the Cards

I dont see how anyone can really argue with the authors point. The Phillies did just pass the worst team ever mark! The Flyers have out performed all other Philly teams but you cant tell me that you dont think that they have not lived up to our expectations as lofty as those may be. Championships are hard to come by but someones got to win...why cant it be us?

Thats about all the French I know. Seems to be all I need to know when describing this author. Minter?? First person to be conceived by two men.

DoucheBag indeed. Philly Froggie neglects to mention that France has lost more battles than the Phillies!

fuck you

This is absurd. The French didn't even invent French fries. But, sure getting a frying.

you know you're hardly dealing with the illuminati of the sports world when a philly fan has more beef with the author's words than the mere truth that their teams have pulled off nearly a generation of indentured, unending suck. sports purgatory is sports purgatory, even if you like the wall art of the odd world series walk-off loss or super bowl consolation trophy. the ever-present ad hominem attack, though not surprising, just goes to show the usual brain wave pattern. why read the message when you kill the messenger? continue to speak the truth minter. us cubbie fans understand. dissatisfaction in performance should be questioned and not brushed off, even if your heart bleeds (in your case) yuengling and pat's steaks. and let the peanut gallery actually learn how to use spell check before they let the world discover how big a douche they are.

You forgot to mention that the one W.S. the Phillies did get would have never happened without Pete Rose.

Despite the rain and the delays, the drought in Philadelphia is over. I am happy to come back to this article to report that, after 25 years, a Philadelphia team has returned to the podium. The Philadelphia Phillies were crowned World (grandiose title, admittedly) Champions by beating Tampa Bay 4-1. Read here with Fox Sports: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/gameTrax?gameId=281027122 &refreshRate=30 It was hardly the prettiest of victories, but the title is Philadelphia's. Now about those Flyers?
