Andy Roddick could have a good chance at winning the U.S Open this year but the man in questioning is Roger Federer. It is such a shame about Andy Murray being out for such a long period of time. He is such a talented player and he would have made an impact in Wimbledon if he had played there this year. Realistically he has to stay focused and look after his injury. He is a brilliant player and has a great future ahead of him. Hopefully 2008 will be his year.

With the #1 & #2 seeds seemingling unbeatable, unstopable and relentless, Has the U.S. Open lost its swagger. I watch a lot, a lot of tennis and have grown bored with Roger Federer. Rafael Nadal is more exciting to watch with his speed, determination and all out hustle. With that said, James Blake nor Andy Roddick will make it to the U.S. Open Finals. James Blake is in denial. He really needs to re-think that whole "loyality" to his coach thing. Its not winning him majors. Its time for Blake to step up and place frienship and loyality on the table, and get a NEW coach. Maybe Pete Sampras or Andre Aggassi. (I know that's wishful thinking but its sounds good.) Andy Roddick on the other hand has the great Jimmy Conners and we see how that is turning out. So, what are the Americans to do? No sweat my pet, Sam Querry is quickly becoming America tennis hope. But can he live up to the hype? Oh yeah, when does the "young" Donald Young, step up with the big dawgs. I can't wait for that to happen.

Andy Roddick doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the U.S. Open. It will all, as it usually does lately, boil down to two top seeds, Federer and Nadal. A shame really, cause it takes that something out of the whole competition; it has simply become too predictable. When you look at grand slam titlist in general, in the past couple o seasons, we had only two names in the Men's competitions (Nadal and Federer), while women produced much more drama and suspense (Mauresmo, Henin, Sharapova, Williams sisters). I believe that we will see something similar at this year's U.S. Open. I hope to God that I'm wrong, but seriousy doubt it.

i wonder if as many players would find themselves in their high ranked positions should there be a limit on how many ace's they could use to score cheap points. What message are we sending to the up and coming soon you wont need an opponent?
