How as such an early stage of the competition does Rohit Sakunia have over half of the votes. Either he knows something everyone else doesn't, or he has a billion friends.
by Sam on December 17, 2007
PLEASE VOTE MY DAD! JOE MORRIS!!!
by rob on December 17, 2007
Alls fair in 'love and war'. Rohit literally does have a billion friends (roughly India's pop.) Good luck to all.
by Bazza on December 17, 2007
MAybe Rohit is using the same guys as Saddam and Robert Mugabe to run his voting campaign. Must really want the 100 quid!
by Prabhu on December 17, 2007
Hey Guys ! Dont get too much bogged on with Rohit ! Rohit has done his job on cricket reviews !! He is going to win b'coz he is from India where cricket is not just a sport but a religion. He will have his family and friends bigger than of a small country. So I am sorry if others who are competing doesn't get to it. Its not your mistake.
by srinivas vedantam on December 17, 2007
i don't know why people r cripping on rohit getting about 50% of the votes.....look at what he wrote in his articles, and u'll know he's the best choice..... i would suggest Mr.What da... to read his articles and silently vote for this guy if he really wants to play it fair.......
by anuj.r on December 17, 2007

If it is cricket from India, then cricket it is. Whatever gets the biggest readership. I'm pretty sure that my faves (basketball and NFL) will get less readership than football and cricket, but that's okay. At the same time though I do think Craig Hackney and Hamish McBrearty deserve praise for their work. Their writing is always informative, funny, witty. Whilst I might not have agreed with their views I've really enjoyed most of their articles, and in a way, I think this voting will not reflect this aspect.
by Warren Kirchner on December 18, 2007
James, I like your style. Keep it up !
by Craig H on December 19, 2007
Thanks Greg, never get tired of reading compliments, particularly from other authors. I think all of the authors on the list should get a pat on the back. The only time I get to read about some sports is on Sportingo, such as your stuff on the NBA & NFL or Hamish's rugby stuff. The writing here is as good as anywhere on the 'Net and has the added benefit of presenting views from across the globe, something missing from the local media. Not bad for a bunch of amateurs! Hope you and all of the other authors have a great Christmas (or culturally appropriate holiday. Cheers.
by Kenneth Mortimer on December 19, 2007
I am sure that almost all of you have been mesmerised by James' grasp of the game made in heaven. He articulated insights and analyses thet seem to be missed by the most experienced sports journalists. Surely he is deserving of your vote and I look forward to not only seeing the results but also your comments of his stories. Some might say as his father I might be a tad biased but let me assure you that I always view his inputs most dispassionately!

only tday i came to know abt the contest and it was really gud to see i was leadin. thanx to all the ppl who r voting day in and day out on my name because the difference between me and others show all ppls efforts towards me. another request guys plz do not humiliate any other author or any other country because we come frm india guys and ppl frm india are known to show courtesy towards everyone and respect towrds all countries. yeah i know there are ppl who are kind of tryin to hit me by their lines but we will take it in our stride and win when it matters. chak de india
by Budhaditya Roy on December 24, 2007
Though I seem to have argued the most with him over the year :D Rohit and Madhu have also been extremely good ever the year. Its writers like these that makes Sportingo rock. But if I am asked to choose one, it has to be that wizard from Oz, Craig Hackney.
by Ankush on December 24, 2007
dahlings grow up, its not india, its not a hundered crore population, its the quality of writings tht is getting rohit tht far, he is very good, and if u have any doubts do read the articles.
by rohit sakunia on December 24, 2007
thanx both budhaditya and ankush.
by Rohit Isaloser on December 26, 2007
Hi Rohit, after seeing your "amazing" lead, I just had to see a piece of yours for myself to see if you were worthy of the lead. And if writing a short "article" which is fully based on one Session of a warm up game is called Journalism, then really, Sportingo should actually look into this voting thing, there are far better writers on the list that could be ambassadors for the Sportingo website.Honestly, it all looks a bit pear-shaped to me. It should be a case of the best man winning, and Mr Rohit Sakunia, congratulations on your (undeserved) lead. Sportingo should remember that you will be the Sortingo Ambassador if you win, and people will want to see Sportingo's quality, but Alas all they will find is this weak composition and Letter writing.
by Hi All ! on December 26, 2007
Dont worry about who wins! Hey guys now tell here who is the real best !! Things do change !! Never even attack a country. Respect each other. Because we make a country ! Afterall I would like to get a flawless feedback, coz I am from India. Who is the best ??. Comments down with proofs. I will see that this voting game will take a turn.
by rohit sakunia on December 26, 2007
hey ppl what r u talking about is of no sense bcause as far as rigging is concerned i dont have to do it. and yes whover wants to change the voting game is welcomed to do that. as i said dont say fowl word about anyone else and any other country and till a person abides by that i have no issues of what he is doing with the voting process. getiing nominated was kind of a prize for me and now winning or losing is the last thing on my mind. whether i am a loser or not is quite clear since i have been leading fr the last 11 days and now even if some cheater manipulates this i have no issues.
by Aasim Shaffi on December 26, 2007
Hey, i'm just happy to be on the list. My tennis work on sportingo has inspired me to make my own tennis website ( www.ashaffi.page.tl ). Go me!!! :)
by Ankush on December 29, 2007
okies i tht personal abuse was not tolerated on this forum, yet i mean y does it happen to ppl who are good and winning tend to get ripped apart for no fault of theirs. i mean cmon y cant we all accpet tht all the nominees are good but the best is always one, and this time it has to be rohit. so just accept it and end the debate... rohit cheers man u deserved to win
by Rohit Sakunia on December 29, 2007
Hi ankush. Gr8 thanx. its ppl who make me right and keep the inspiration going. i have already got a lot of prizes seeing how ppl have responded to attacks on me. now winning and losing are just formalities.
by Ejaz Khan - Nominee on January 01, 2008
I think we can all agree that this method of choosing a winner is not the best, and that Sportingo will have to think up a new way next time around. I guess we all learn from experience. It just feels weird to lose so convincingly to someone who can't get his grammar correct, judging by his comments above. Well done Rohit, you are the winner by a landslide !!
by rohit sakunia on January 01, 2008
thanx ejaz for that sarcasm.let me make something very clear, its not grammar but thinking pattern which matters in analysis of sports. moreover sportingo people do their job in correcting my grammar and as far as my following is concerned that u can see by the nos i have fetched. i know this is not the only criteria for deciding the winner and i wont comment on the fairness of it because i believe that at least somebody has taken a initiative to reward sports enthusiasts and criticising the method wont be fair especially since democracy is being used, which again is the strength of my country. but one thing i'll repeat that is i am already a winner by being nominated amongst some gud names and the kind of support i have recieved, the additional amount can only increase the happiness if anything. but yeah one thing, u know wat ejaz, Rather than criticising somebody who is doing better if we spend time analysing why he is doing good thats better for everybody. regards
by Ejaz Khan on January 02, 2008
Judging by comments to article ratio, Football (Soccer) is the biggest topic on Sportingo.Your highest comments tally for a piece was 17. So there are two possibilities: 1) People don't read your pieces 2) People don't feel there is enough substance in the piece to warrant a comment. You did brilliant PR, I commend you for that, sending a mail out to the entire Indian Internet community, so for that, I give you 100%. At the end of the day, YOU ARE THE WINNER! Enjoy the 100 pounds, thats a million in Rupees! Take care !

I notice im not mentioned, even though clearly my Rugby Articles for the 2007 Worldcup were Quality. Did anyone happen to the notice that the Actual Winning Entry of The Rugby World Cup Competion, was Non Excistent! In my Book half the people mentioned on this website are completly made up people. Im the only real life, non rigged writer in here! Good luck winning the Trophy. As long as you dont exist you are guarenteed certified winner. I dont participate in fake Competions.

khan sounds like a SORE loser.Maybe you should get another profession.....its ONLY 100 quid so shut it!
by Natalie Gentle on January 08, 2008
Craig Hackney - Well I think so... It's not everyday that I would choose an Ausie to win anything (It goes against all that we are thought here is South Africa!!!) But I love reading this stuff... He gives a great deal of insight with each article, and I can over look his bais for Australia. :-)
