I guess, the same person would then have agreed that Tom Brady is the greatest. How can you forget that even after being sacked for 5 times, hit for 20 odd times, his team was still leading less than 3 minutes from finish! He did make things happen despite his Offence line being smothered. Tell me if any of those greats were hit and sacked in a game that many times and still came out to win.

Sorry but the article is contradictory in manner. Brady's position in NFL history can hardly be called into question. So he lost a Superbowl... you've mentioned John Elway in this article yet it was the same Elway who succumbed 55-10 to the 49ers in a Superbowl. Nobody is doubting Elways greatness, nor Dan Marino (who never won a Superbowl).. so where's the logic in questioning the Brady factor... as the previous poster stated, Brady was sacked 5 times Sunday nite and New England were simply outcoached and outplayed by a superior Giants team on the night. btw... I can't stand the Patriots, but you have to recognise quality when you see it :-)

Did anyone even watch football last season? The Patriots almost won the Superbowl with Reche Caldwell as his main receiver. (Think about it- if they had bested the Colts the Grossman led Bears would have been no problem). Brady's greatness HAS been his ability to win with average teams. This article loses all credibility.

ok, i am by all means no patriots fan, as a matter of fact, i hate them, but i like tom brady! he honestly is the stuff! ask him to do anything and he'll do it better than anyone. brady might be slow, but so was marino and both mannings. when you look at vick and/or mcnabb, they all can run but have yet to win a superbowl and probably never will!! brady, without a shadow of a doubt, is the greatest quarterback of the 21st century, which puts him in the category of top 10 best quarterbacks, possibly top 5. also, brady does have a lot of arm strength, most of the touchdown passes to moss were deep down the stretch, its just their game plan to do screens and sideline throughs, just basically to move the chains!! BRADY is awesome! good article, bad allegations, sorry!

One loss doesn't make any diffrence.. they won 18 games and can anybody tell me if any team in history has won 18 games.. huh... Giants are a wildcard team with so many losses... so i won't consider them a great team... they just won one game....

How do you define greatness? By Stats? Then Marino and Favre are the best ever, with Peyton poised to take it all away from them. By wins? Then give it to Montana or Bradshaw. Or is it a package of all of these things and intangibles that are impossible to measure? I'd rather go with this one, and Tom Brady fares pretty great in both stats, wins and that leadership stuff as well... As for Raj's comment, the Giants won 4 games, not one. All on the road, and all against teams that were deemed much better. They are not the team with the most talent, they are the ones who wanted it most... That extra heart they gave is exactly what makes them a great team!

I am a San Francisco 49er fan and I worship the ground that Joe Montana walks on. But to dismiss Tom Brady as not being in the same class as Montana, Elway, and Marino is a mistake. Brady led three Super Bowl-winning teams with exactly who at receiver? I believe his best receiver at the time was Troy Brown. Joe had Dwight Clark and Jerry Rice, John Elway had Rod Smith, and Dan Marino had the Marks Brothers. I know that Joe and John Elway had excellent offensive lines to work with. Aside from all that, Brady has three Super Bowl rings to Favre's one and Marino's none. I believe that Brady stands up there with those guys.

Sorry but watching Brady play puts me to sleep. I am not that knowledgeable about the game but Favre, P Manning, Montana, Marino, and Elway had entertainment value that I just don't see in Brady's play.

"In terms of greatness, one must look at the physical attributes a quarterback possesses." Really? Why? If so, then I guess you better scratch Joe Montana and Johnny Unitas off your list, because as anyone who knows anything about football will quickly tell you, neither was impressive from a physical standpoint. Meanwhile, you'll have to elevate flops like Ryan Leaf and David Carr, remarkable physical talents who couldn't cut it in pro football. There's simply no way to take your analysis seriously. Brady may not be THE best of all time, but yes, he is most certainly in the same class as Elway (2-3 in Super Bowls), Montana, etc. Also, i think its pretty widely recognized that until this season Brady was not surrounded with a lot of talent on offense- in fact, the Pats 2001 team was arguably less talented than any of the three teams Elway managed to lose with in the Super Bowl. Its clear you're writing what you want to believe rather than what most careful observers of the game will tell you.

ALL SEASON LONG ALL THE SPORT WRITERS AND ANNOUNCERS WHERE SAYING HOW GREAT BRADY IS AND HE MAY BE THE GREATERS OF ALL TIME. NOW JUST BECAUSE HE LOST THE SUPERBOWL EVERYONE NOW IS SAYING HE NOT A GREST QUATERBACK. GIVE ME A BREAK. DO YOU THINK ELI IS GREAT/ DON,T THINK SO

They were 5-13 in their last 18 games with Drew Bledsoe, and once Brady took over they won 3 out of 4 superbowls. He took a team with Caldwell and Gaffney to the AFC championship game and nearly won it. Also, Brady has great arm strength--did you see his 70 yard pass the other day? Finally, Brady arguably has the best pocket presence of any QB in history. He's succeeded in the past even when he was pressured...He had a bad game, that doesnt completely destroy his legacy. Not to mention he did lead a go-ahead drive with less than 2:30 mintues to go. If Eli doesn't lead that miracle drive at the end, we are all talking about how great Brady's final drive was.

I'll never understand it. If you're "not that knowledgeable", which is obvious from your comment, then why even write. There is plenty of wasted words in this Universe, why add to the problem of stupid people saying stupid things

Brady will either go down as the best or second best. He's only 30 I mean come on he has a lot of years left in him and will probably get one or two more SuperBowl rings. I wasn't alive during Montana and all the greats. Who was the one that got them all to the superbowls? Brady he had an amazing first season. His first season as a starter he won a superbowl. Who has been able to do that? I think Brady was the only one. Yeah, the Giants had won, but it was not Brady's fault they lost. Giants D-line just made the plays and did their jobs. The Pats had a good run and the defence just had to stop them, but they couldn't. Brady is great so is Brett, I don't like Peyton, but he's good, but i don't feel he is better than Brady. Peyton has only made the SuperBowl once. Brady has made it four times. Brady didn't have all that great of recievers before and Peyton did, but he came up short to who else? Tom Brady, can every person be on the top of their game? No, there not all perfect he might've been this season, but
