As we wait to discover who is going to be crowned at the ATP Masters Championship in London, let’s take a glimpse to some of the best moments of the year.

February 1: Federer’s tears after losing the Australian Open final against Rafael Nadal. After 4 hours 23 minutes of smashes, drops, aces and magical strokes, Roger had to give way to his historical rival. The Swiss could not hold back his tears, thus demonstrating an incommensurable devotion to his sport.

June 29: After one week of Wimbledon, the brand new roof over Centre Court is closed. For the first time in history, a Wimbledon tournament has taken place quite independently of rainy weather conditions.

June 6: Federer winning the Roland Garros final against Robin Soderling, 6–1 7–6(1) 6–4. Thanks to this victory, Roger completed a personal Grand Slam - another incredible result that crowned his career and records. In fact, before him, only five players (Fred Perry, Don Budge, Roy Emerson, Rod Laver and Andre Agassi) had accomplished this epic feat.

September 9: Rafael Nadal's unexpected kiss from an impetuous fan. During the fourth round of the US Open, a spectator ran on to the court and kissed his idol: after a moment of astonishment, Rafael smiled politely at the fan. However, the incident left space for worry - since the attack on Monica Seles, acts like these have become less acceptable.

September 13: Kim Clijsters winning the US Open represented a hit of this tennis season. After her retirement, Kim raced back onto court on August 10. Some weeks later, she took part in the New York tournament thanks to a wild card. She then defeated both Williams sisters - the only tennis player to beat the terrible duo in the same tournament – and lifted the championship trophy with her little daughter at her side. A modern fairy tale of the tennis courts.

September 14: Juan Martín del Potro’s incredible triumph over Federer in the US Open final after a very tough match (3-6 7–6(5) 4-6 7-6(4) 6–2). The result confirmed that a new candidate has arrived to claim the ATP No.1 ranking.

October 29: Caroline Wozniacki’s cramps during her match against Vera Zvonareva during the Ericsson Championship at Doha. The Danish girl's suffering concerned everyone but what impressed most was her courage in fighting off her pain and ultimately winning the match. An impressive show of maturity and endurance.

October 30: Andre Agassi’s autobiography. Without doubt, the publication of this book has established a no-return point in tennis history. By admitting the use of drugs during a difficult moment in his career, the American has again raised the question of drug use in professional tennis and raised huge doubts about the reliability of ATP and WTA controls. Not to mention the shock caused to all Agassi's fans – especially women - by revealing that his long hair was fake.

Novmber 2: Serena Williams winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and Master Series in Doha -three major tournaments won with ease and in very convincing style. Thanks to her success Serena regained her WTA No.1 ranking - Dinara Safina could do nothing to stop this glorious season for the younger Williams.
