There is less than one percent chance that Roger will not lift the Wimbledon crown in 2007! Form is temporary and class is permanent, remember that Rafa!
by Fred on June 15, 2007
Rex, old chap, spare us your made-up statistic of Federer having less than a one percent chance of winning Wimbledon in 2007. Where'd you pick that up? And don't confuse elegance in play, which Federer certainly has, with class, which he does not have. He has not stopped disparaging Nadal in his interviews although Nadal has nothing but praise for him. Why do Federer fans have a rabid need to badmouth Nadal? I never hear Nadal's fans badmouthing Federer, even when he loses to the Swiss! The reason is simple: like Federer, you feel threatened and insecure at the prospect of his losing the no. 1 ranking, so you strike out wildly, irrationally, and illogically. Class? The whole lot of you wouldn't recognise it if it stared you in the face.

i always root for federer everytime he plays.but fred is right, lately roger hasn't been showing class on interviews. i don't really like nadal but everytime he's with the mic, he displays the class the roger used to have. federer winning wimbledon is perfectly fine with me..but nadal holding the wimbledon trophy maybe a better thing to see....

hi, i dont know why you all still complain for roger not winning roger himself has already said that he is unbeatable at roland garros...so time to accept roger accepts nadal as one of the greatest player, so we should know stop complaining and lets go on
by maya on June 15, 2007
come on brian!!..why should he be afraid?? this is not realistic... roger knows, that nadal can win other majors...so he is just prepaired for that

I am sure that Nadal is going to win grand slams on other surfaces also.I dont understand why federer is having most obnoxious fans in tennis.Maybe there is some sense of identification between them and him.Where ever possible federer devotees try to insult Nadal. But Nadal is allways a balanced person to get involved in petty accusations.Nadal is a great global ambassador. He came to chennai open in india to play.A player of his stature usually dont play in tennis wise insignificent tournaments. But still Nadal came and participated.People thronged to see him play.He is such a humble and lovable person with genuine humility.Tennis must be greatful to him.

Once again, I'd like to say ,this magazine is attracting very trashy and unclassy journalism and comments. The kind of stuff fans of both sides are saying to each other is not what Roger or Rafa would condone.Stop it everyone.Chill and ENJOY the games of both men.

I thing that Nadal has real chance to win Wimbledon, because Nadal's speed and strength,he has very good frst service, and very good control on play.
by Steffani on June 15, 2007
Unclassy journalism? Perhaps you didn't read this article carefully as it is very well-written. Good journalism is colorful, and this article did what it was supposed to do...make people think about it. The author of the article thinks very highly of Federer but is just trying to point out that Federer is unable to change his gameplan vs. Nadal at Roland Garros.

Well, I think most of Federer's seeming inability to beat Nadal is mostly a style thing. Just thought I'd mention that Andy Roddick played a very straight-forward game and was able to keep stride with Federer by pounding the ball 148 miles an hour. But being the best player in the world, Roger Federer wouldn't allow himself to be beaten by such an orthodox player. He was simply to good for that. But now he faces everything Andy Roddick was not. An incredibly agile, left-handed, backhand-oriented player.

To me Roger looked tired and even somewhat bored on in the QF when he lost 1-6, Again in the semi against Davydenko he looked like his mind was elsewhere at times. I would say RF was feeling some burnout. The tour is quite long and RF has been losing a few other matches ie to Cañas etc. Seems like he needs a break You can't force the mind to focus when you are burned out. We'll see how he looks at Wimbeldon, but Nadal is playing well. Let's hope Roger gets the rest he deserves and plays well. It's only good for the sport to have the rivalry.

Nadal takes you to the game even if you're half way around the world. So if you're miles away, imagine how it must feel for his opponents. The only tennis player to publicly acknowledge (on court) nadal was the GREAT Aggasi in Montreal Canada. I live in Canada & I am a Nadal fan. I don't have to tell the players to watch out, Nadal is coming, they already know. Yes, Nadal is going to hit the #1 spot & that would be a great day, I will be there because he will take me there!

there were similar articles last year after RG final....so...I will leave federer to answer all his critica and haters again with his results....this man has been winning 3 out of 4 slams for past 3 years.....an making finals in the other slams.....nadal didn't even get past QF in other slams....i dont know how can u compare both...the one time he made final of wimbledon..is pure luck of the draw...it was the same when lubjicic made SF at RG 2006.....the draw was too nice for him in last year's wimbledon....and how many of u guys know tht roger had thigh problems post his QF with robredo and tht he went all the way to basel for treatment before his SF match with davydenko..u can clearly observe tht he wasn't even attempting to slide on his forehand side!!....

Certainly Federer could have served a lot better in Paris and hit some of those near sitting forehands inside the lines... those two factors alone might well have reversed the outcome... Nadal looked almost puzzled at Federer missing some of those forehands... relieved and sligtly puzzled... on the grass Federer's going to get lower bounces enabling him to penetrate with his stokes making defensive scrambling, which Nadal excells at, much more difficult... should be a very difficult assignment for the talented Nadal to return to the finals on the grass this year.
by James on June 16, 2007
Unfortunately Rafa's loss at Queens shows he has a long way to go on grass before reaching the Fed Express. Just not in the same league.

I think nadal is lucky to be in final last year. To all nadal fan, Clay wear out players in past, and please take my word, he will strugle to remain top ten after age 26.
by annie on June 16, 2007
roger will never lose wimbledon and i've told you a hundred times nadal can ONLY win on clay and we badmouth nadal cuz he SUCKS BIG TIME
by san on June 16, 2007
Beating federer on grass court will be a sort of miracle ...but at present if anybody even has a slightest of slightest chance that would be RAFA. Agreed that his grass skills are not as up to the standards of roddick or hewitt to fight the Federer Monster...but he is loaded with energy, passion and confidence which gives him edge over other competetors to pull off a miracle. But to be realistic FEDERER will win next two grandslams this year..rafa's chance will again be French next year
by ale venezuela on June 17, 2007
Say that rafa will never win other grand slam its take away the good of the sport, in tennis everybody can win.. the one who are the best just doit in 99/100 times..., i do think rafa will win, no likely Wimbeldon many times but who knows?

Hey Mr. Brian, you are the writer and your writing was read by everyone around the world. So when you need to back someone you love, don't let the other down. Many people after had read yours may try to do something or write to you but they think it wasted time doing that. For me I'd like to do the same but when I read many comments, it showed me yours worked. Because they need to see no2 beat no1, maybe these cooments wouldn't happen if they knew the result of the artoid championship. Or they knew but they might think the way Nadal lost to 106th player because he is tired like he was when 'Roger' beat him in Humberg. That's ridiculous. Why don't people like you need to see 'Roger' holds the fifth Wimby trophy? When 'Roger' won almost every tounament, all you guys felt bored and think tennis is not interesting to watch. But when he lost sometimes, alll you guys again blame him and try so hard to sink him. Why??? Be do optimistic!
by steele on June 17, 2007
Federer is not only not afraid of Nadal, he knows how to beat him decisively. What nobody has noticed is that Federer played RG with a groin strain, perhaps sustained BEFORE the final.True to his classy and stoic self, Fed did not use it as an excuse, but it was obvious to those who watched. No, Fed haters, that was not Nadal "wearing him down". There have been plenty of reasons why Fed has not played his best yet this year, but the bulk of the season is ahead. Look who's still number one. Come back here in December and see who's still number one.

It is a big shame that the second best player in the world has such weak skills on surfaces other than the clay. The only fact that everybody seems to pay attention to is that Rafa has won 3 French opens consecutively. well the other side to this coin, in my opinion is that, he has'nt won any other grandslams. That aside , he has a very strange habit of getting knockout on the first 3 rounds of each major tournament. I think before thinking on beating Roger on Wimbeldon's final , he has to think of a way to get to that bloody match.
by mememe on June 18, 2007
To be comepletely honest rafa has improved so much since last year he will definately give federer a run for his money. i mean who is the only player to get a set of federer at wimbledon - nadal. that was last year and since then he has improved a huge amount especially on his serve which will help him on grass. whereas federer has practically stayed the same.
by Ally on June 20, 2007
Nadal's run to the Wimbledon Final last year was a fluke! I higly doubt Federer fears him on any thing outsiude of clay!

NADAL WILL WIN WIMBLEDON!!! BELIEVE ME!!!! i am a federer fan, but i can smell it.....
