There is no doubt in Federer's talent. But is it fair to the players that the semifinalist from the bottom half of the draw does not get a day or rest while Federer will? what type of arrangement is this? look at Federer's draw and look at all the advantages laid out there for him. Why not give him the trophy just at the beginning?

I believe that both men's semifinals will be on Saturday - that's the norm at the US Open. That means 1 day of rest for both sides of the draw. However, for such an important final, the US Open should think about giving the players an extra day of rest. Brad Gilbert proposed a Monday Night final in the latest issue of Tennis Magazine. Thoughts?

Djokovic has skills and mental strength to be able to stop Federer winning 4th US Open.

Hi Mr. Mike, Have you seen US Open for the first time or the first time watching tennis? You still have a chance to change your mind.

I think what zola was getting at in the first comment was that Federer's quarterfinal is Wednesday, while the other half plays Thursday, meaning Roger and his semifinal opponent have 2 days off, as opposed to one for the other semifinalists (presumably Djokovic and Nadal). But that's not as bad as Australia, where the men's semis are staggered, giving one finalist an extra day off. There is one big reason why the men's final isn't going to Monday night, or Sunday night, or any night-- ratings. The men just don't draw them here (U.S.). At last year's final, we had Federer vs Roddick, which is about as appealing a men's match as there can be for the American public in terms of ratings. Part of the actual matchplay spilled over into primetime. The rating? 2.0. On a Sunday night, the night with the biggest viewing pool available, they pull a 2.0. (Obviously they've long since burned off the ratings spillover from the NFL.) For comparison, that would be like drawing a 1.3 on Saturday night, which has the small

i guess many guys out here watch tennis for first time.....who said federer is havin all benefits to his credit...u know he's facing one of the toughest draw than many other. right from 3rd round 3rd -- isner 4th -- gausquet (as per schedule.. but he left tournmnt due to injury) quarter -- andy roddick semi -- davydenko or tommy hass or blake (as per schedule) final -- (djokovic or nadal).... on the other hand nadal and djokovic enjoys a easy run till fourth round... they gonna face their first change on quaters only.. i tell u in tennis a day off will never make a diff ... mind you nadal played for 5 continous days b4 wimbledon final... he still could keep his winning thing... there practising stuff will help them play as long as they want .,,, any given day federer is federer.. no one can match at any cost..he proved tht many times..

Might happen...but one have to remember that Djokovic beat Federer in a best-of-three match. I hope we get another Wimbledon-like epic match between Federer and Djokovic or Nadal (don't count Rafa out, his mental toughness is that of Hewitt's and Connor's).

ZOLA -- your complaints are getting old -- wimby was a free ticket for fed, uso is also a free ticket -- i suspect looking thru your impartial rafa-fan lenses, all 11 slams won by the fed represents free tickets over the years --- rafa of course is just too good when he wins...no free ---getting old....

Roger Federer is without doubt the greatest to play the game. Modern tennis is at a better standard now and he is the current number 1 in the world and has been for an extended amount of time. Too many people are riding him off, putting him down, doubting his abilities and disrespecting the legend (Too jealous of his brilliant career and want someone else to beat him). He is a great man on and off court, modest and has true composure which has got him so far. Why not respect this player now for there may not ever be a better one in your life???
