With the Williams sisters getting injured on a regular basis, it is hard to see a match between the top players(Venus, serena and Henin) and when it does come it is too early, at most times. Davenport has just beaten Jankovic i hope she can find her champion form so that there would be four top women. It would make Slams and other tournaments better.

i disagree that lidsay has had attitude problems in her matches; she may lack serena's spirit, but lindsay has always been stabile and consistent on court... in my opinion, she's a great player and one of my personal favourites. i can't think of a player with such perfect strokes and i'm confident that she'll be a top ten player soon

Yorthae... Davenport didn't have an attitude problem? Comeon, you don't remember those slumped shoulders? How about the '05 Aussie when she tanked in the third against Serena? I, too, think she'll return to the top 10, but it will take an attitude adjustment for her to win a Slam.

you misunderstood me.. i do remember those slumped shoulders; however i don't think it was such a big issue with her... every player has that problem her and there (even serena) but i you've made it sound that her problem in that area was as big as amelie's... that was the thing i didn't like... no hard feelings :)

Yorthae, of course no hard feelings. But I didn't misunderstand you. I think Davenport's moodiness inhibited her from being the great champion that she could've been. And sure, she won three slams, but I think she could've won quite a few more...

Davenport was already world number one back in 1997. She went up against the likes of the legendary Steffi Graf, child prodigy Martina Hingis, the deadly Williams sisters, the two-fisted powerhouse Monica Seles, and a few others who, if compared to many of today's top players, are way better in comparison. She would have won a few more Grand Slams if the competition wasn't so tough at that time. Davenport is 31 now and she might only have a year or two left on the tour. I just hope it becomes a memorable one for her. She has the skills to pull it together. It's great for tennis and fans should appreciate her coming back on tour.

I hope Lindsay wins another grandslam soon, Im a huge fan here in the Uk. Shes got the consistency that other players lack, the fact that she clobbered the current world number 1 Ivanovic only a few months ago says it all. Go Lindsay !!!
