There is no denying that Justine Henin has proved herself to be a fantastically talented player. At the age of 25 she has won 39 tournaments, seven of which are Grand Slams, and one Olympic Gold. She has achieved so much in her eight years on the professional tour and must be the envy of many of her colleagues.
Seven sounds like a lot of Grand Slam tournament wins, but compare it with the 62 achieved by Margaret Court (24 of which were singles titles), 39 by Billie Jean King (12 singles), Martina Navratilova’s 59 titles (18 singles), Chris Evert’s 18 in GS singles and, most recently, Steffi Graf's 22 Grand Slam single titles, and seven seems insignificant.
When you are looking at stats like this there is absolutely no comparison. If Henin wanted to surpass Court's record of singles titles she would have to win almost every Grand Slam tournament for the next five years!
I'm sure, if asked, Henin would reveal no burning desire to break those records. She is out there trying to do the best she can. Women’s tennis has reached a level of such physical stamina, it is almost impossible for any player to stay at the top of both the singles and doubles rankings. So unless something dramatic happens in the future, I doubt we will be seeing Court's record being broken any time soon.

Justine : 7GS, 2Yec, one fed cup, olympic medal, 25 rec streak that is the (end of season) best since Graf, unbeaten since Wimbledon(best since Graff) etc.. Great stats. At the moment I would rate Justine and the Williams sisters on par, career wise. It's difficult to comparise with all -time greats. I'd rate Graf and Navratilova higher. However I'd rate the sisters and Justine on par with Seles and Evert. Time will tell their exact place in tennis fame. And what about Hingis, where is her place ? Difficult to say.

While comparsions are much easier to make in men's tennis with the past, it is not so in womens tennis. Can we really even compare the time of billy jean king and now? I really dont think so. THey were great- but game was less physical (hence they played longer) and there was less competition. I know it is common to say that womens tennis is not really on a high right now, but even then, during that period of time, there were really few player that the top ranker would be contending with. I think, Graf is definetly the top player in tennis till date. Navratilova- is the best specialist in tennis. Justine- will not be able to even come close to these records, but she will be among the greats. She has been better than everyone, sicne graf for sure. Serena si the closest, and has more number of GS but justine will surpass her soon. Justine greater than Hingis- yes, there is no question about that Monica seles? I dont think we will ever be able to compare that one. I must say, seles was a more talented play

Who knows where Monica Seles would be if not for that horrible attack. That said, today's game is different from the other eras and it is very difficult to stay on top and dominant. The length of the season, the technology and the physical style of play is another animal. If one completes their career with 10 or more slams, that is history book material. Henin will pass the sisters as the dominant player of her time.

Serena is the very best ever. She doesn't give it 100% of her time physically or mentally and still has the ability to win slams. Of course Justine is a great player but Serena is in a class of her own.

I'm pretty sure Justine will go down in the history books as one of the greatest of all time. She's certainly the best player of the moment. She just has to stay healthy.

That when Loise posts a topic about J.Henin, even when it's a friendly debate all of a sudden the ratings go down, without clear postings. Rather juvenile, but I guess always the same sore losers seeking redemption, np/-D JU will be a champ, nothing they can change about it. BTW The W.sisters are champs too.

Justine henin may be a great player, ill give you that but it will be a big challenge for her to win wimbledon, Venus and Serena rule on Grass courts i mean just look at their record on the surfece, and venus just won her fourth wimbledon crown. regardless if henin made the final venus is in a legue of her own. if justine deserves to be considered a great then so does Serena! Serena has won more grand slams, and came back to great form on many ocassions, and shes won at the olyimpics too. it will be intersting to see how venus and serena do, they could pass courts record with a little more work. they want to play doubles again at the olyimpcs so they are motivated, just look at their record before they dominated in doubles, and complete a career slam together, if anyone can do it, its them, their games together are something else, and justine couldnt ever be that great on the doulbes circuit.

Justine may not quite achieve as much as the other former greats however i reckon Justine at her peak could beat anyone woman to have played tennis. She has proven she can overcome the big hitters - the Williams, Davenport and Sharapova, the players with the skill - Hingis & Chakvetadze, the fit players - Clijsters, Kuznetsova the young up-and-coming players Jankovic, Vaidisova, Ivanovic, the past players Capriati and co. She plays just like Roger Federer only half his size and she has overcome all those players and all obstacles. She is the fittest, mentally toughest and most talented player off all time. She would beat Court, Graf, Seles, Navratilova and the rest if she is fit and healthy. She has proven she can overcome anything! That is a champion
