What's going to happen in tennis in 2008? I feel that the men's game will hot up due to the guts and determination of most the top men's seeds.

David Nalbandian, Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer have all shown that they, along with a handful of others, can give Roger Federer a run in the finals of important tournaments.

Former Federer coach Tony Roche is now on the side of Lleyton Hewitt and it will be fascinating to see if he can turn the Aussie's game around. I can't wait for an Australian Open clash between Hewitt and Federer.

The women's tour also has an interesting edge. The Williams sisters and Maria Sharapova will try to dominate the Grand Slams, while Justine Henin and Jelena Jankovic will need to pace themselves carefully. And we mustn't forget the return of Lindsay Davenport with her plan to return to full-time tennis.

Meanwhile, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Amelie Mauresmo and Ana Ivanovic will need to seriously step up their game in order to be up there with the top five.

I actually like players who either lack confidence or are simply not in good touch. Women get a raw deal as they need to cope with mood swings, but at the end of the day it is all about how fit you are, how well you played and how you as an individual cope with the game.

Confidence comes with achievements and I'm really looking forward to a fascinating year of tennis for both the men and women in singles and doubles.
