Jonathan Woodgate is on his way to White Hart Lane. Goal.com reports that Middlesbrough had granted Tottenham Hotspur permission to go and talk to Woodgate for a possible transfer this month and that the talks have brought results. Spurs’ £7m bid for the player has been accepted and the deal will be concluded before the weekend.

Woodgate has played well for Boro after three injury-rocked seasons with Real Madrid. The signs are that the England international, even at 28 can recapture his Newcastle United form and peak once again.

Although Boro were not eager to sell the defender, Spurs’ manager Jaunde Ramos has managed convince Woodgate to swap Teeside for north London. Spurs are desperate for a world-class central defender and in Woodgate, Ramos has got what he needs.
