Yes Tsonga is a really good find for tennis. His charisma is attractive for even a die hard fan of Rafa like me.I hope he maintains his consistency which was not fully there when he faced djoker in the final. But what i wants to emphasise is that Rafa will defenitely come back.Rafa needs to improve even more on hard courts. He has the potential for it.Rafa may look agressive on court, but he is one of the most gracious guys in defeat as well as victory.Rafa has a huge following outside spain as well.Tennis needs rafa to be a great player.

To become a champion, ingredients such as raw power and brilliant technique are not enough. The champion must be able to find way to win by adjusting his game and neutralise opponents strength, Nighter Nadal/Tsonga possesses such a quality. Did you watch final? Djokovis (youngest player) demonstrate that he is a real champion. In the middle of the second set I knew that he will win. He adjusted his game and neutralised Tsonga power and the rest of game becomes formality. Tennis world got a new King that has game suitable for all types of surfaces and most important he use his brain as well as brilliant technique.

Thanks for your comments Bobby and Michael. I expected Rafa to get to the final at the Australian particularly as it's a slow court. I'm not sure he can win the U.S. Open because it's near the end of the hard court season and he breaks down. Michael, you are correct. Djokovic has the qualities of a champion. My goal in this piece was to look at an almost perfect game. One almost perfect game doesn't make a champion. But I think there's a reason that people were cheering for Tsonga over Djokovic in the final. Tsonga is an artistic player who's a beautiful moved and plays an all court game. All credit to Djokovic, he'll win more slams. But Djokovic also represents baseline power tennis and now that we've seen Federer, we're looking for more all court tennis and especially from someone who is more expressive than Federer. That is also Baghdatis' appeal - the passion. It may not happen, Tsonga may never reach another slam final, but it was fun while it lasted.

How that there is no mentions of briliant victory and new AO champion Novak Djokovic within your Tennis section. Is this because "Soprtingo" is not objective or because of the fact that Djokovis is a Serb?

Will the writer also talk about the wonderful straight set beatdown Roger Federer received courtesy of the new King, Novak Djokovic? I was very happy with that result. :)

Djokivic is lame. A good talented tennis player, but don't like his underhanded attitude and mean spiritedness. Unless he changes his attitude, his success will be short-lived.

I do agree that novak is that way. I don't like his immitations either. Before one knows it, all of the players and others will think its just fine to immitate co players. N Djokovic does strange things when he thinks that he is not winning. He has "gotten sick and has asked for a trainer, etc. In my house we call him the donkey. no offense but his looks like one.
