Why Roger Federer is the greatest man ever to grace the court
It would be hard for anyone to argue against the Swiss maestro being the finest player in tennis history after being ranked No.1 for the past four years.

It would be extremely difficult for anyone to argue that Roger Federer isn’t the great male tennis player of all time. Even though the court has been graced with great champions like Pete Sampras, Federer has proven himself to be just as great, or possibly even better. The Swiss superstar has been the standout player on the ATP tour for the past four years, aside from Rafael Nadal. Since claiming the No.1 position in 2004, Federer hasn’t once relinquished it.Since he became No.1, not many players have been able to conquer Federer outside of Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Even though he has fallen to players like Andy Murray and David Nalbandian, he never quits fighting, nor does he let the defeat affect him.At the age of 26 he has already claimed an outstanding 53 titles, including more than 10 Grand Slam crowns. The Swiss king has won every Grand Slam, besides the French Open, at least three times consecutively.Out of all the titles he has won, he has managed to win at least one event on each surface, including clay. The French Open may elude him and hold him back from completing his career slam, but he still has the all-court game needed to dominate the tour. Already Federer has produced a 556-136 record in singles matches, and has surpassed 39 million dollars in prize money.Only two men come close when compared to Federer among active players – Djokovic and Nadal. But along with an extremely successful singles career, he has been fairly triumphant in doubles, claiming seven titles earlier in his career.Rumours are spreading around the tennis world that Federer is losing some of his strength. But the expectations are extremely high, maybe even too high. Even the greatest players lose matches, and occasionally fail to win Grand Slam titles. But that doesn’t mean he is done – far from it. The tough Swiss has what it takes to find another gear and redefine himself as a true great. The Federer reign doesn’t seem to be coming to an end any time soon. At 26, there is no telling how many more titles he could claim, and how much more money he could win. If Andre Agassi can play well into his 30s then Federer has what it takes as well. There is no denying that he is among the greats, alongside the likes of Sampras and Agassi.

Fededer doent have competitors who are as good as Agassi,Becker,Rafter,Ivanisevic,Pat cash,Stepen Edberg,Micheal Stick,Jim Courier, Sergi Brugera,Thomas Muster, etc. In case if he has competitors of stature of above people ,the number may be one or two or three. But Sampras faced better players. Sampras has competitors on every type of court either glass, hard or clay. Like becker, ivanisevic, stick, rafter, edberg, etc on grass Agassi, courier, enquiest, rafter, edberg, becker, kafelniko v, etc etc etc on hard courts. If u say there is Nadal on grass there 4 or 5 ppl whom sampras faced through out his career who are more or less as good a s nadal like agassi, courier, sergy brugera,Thomas Muster, etccc etcc not to mention Kafelnikov among others. So its like a cake walk like a champion who is as good as Fedex not so for sampras who has better competitors and fiercely skillful than any of sampras`s rivals. So By Some distance Its Pistol Pete the Greatest of all-time.

If you hold those players in such high regard than you can respect agassi saying that federer is the best he ever played against(aftert the U.S OPEN)!!!Opinions are like anuses and you obviously have more than one but seriously think b4 you radiate ur ignorance over this site!!!

No matter what people say about Sampras being better than Fedex, that is not true. Fedex is by far the greatest player in the tennis history. I was a big Becker fan, but Fedex would have crushed Becker. Fedex VS Sampras in their prime, Fedex would win 75% of their matches

I completely disagree when you said that only two men come close when compared to Fedex among active players-Djoko & Nada.Do u mean that Roddick,Nalbadian,Ferrer,Davdnko & others in top 50 are not capable of beating the # 1 player? Look what happen lately,Murray,Fish defeated Fedex. I really believe that players now are more complete in stroke than 10 years ago.
