Could Janko Tipsarevic and Novak Djokovic be the Roger Federer of tennis doubles?
Grand Slam champion Djokovic has proven time and again he's one of the best players on the circuit. Slowly, his compariot Tipsarevic is following in his footsteps. Together these two men could dominate the doubles game.

With an abundance of formidable doubles partnerships, it’s hard to fathom any new tandems emerging as the new revolution in tennis doubles. But with a group of strong singles players on the tour, there are countless possibilities for the next great partnership.
The past few seasons have witnessed the emergence of players from small European countries. Perhaps one of the greatest success stories has been the arrival of Serbian tennis.
Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic put their country on the map of success on the WTA tour, and Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic are doing the same. It makes one wonder how successful these two men could be if they competed on the same side of the net.
Of the two, Djokovic has been the most victorious on the tour and is probably more popular than his countryman. Already this season the young Serb has been one of the most successful men, claiming two titles, including the Australian Open.
Since 2006 he has remained one of the most consistent players on the court and continues to strengthen his game. Since 2007 he has ranked insides the world's top three and continues to close the gap on his two biggest rivals, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. With the top two men faltering thus far in 2008 this could be his chance to take the top ranking.
Tipsarevic, on the other hand, may not rank as high as his compatriot - or even in the top 20 for that matter - but with his consistency this year he has already climbed to a career-high ranking of 38.
It may be evident that he hasn’t claimed a title yet in his career, but some of his matches have been worthy of finals. Not many tennis supporters would have thought the Serbian could battle Federer for over four hours, but at this year’s Australian Open he did just that, losing in the third set 8-10.
It seems like a lot of tennis fanatics underestimate the young and brash Tipsarevic. But the tennis world could be in for a rude awakening if he teamed up with fellow countryman Djokovic. Together the two men could set Serbia on track to being a doubles powerhouse, and could prove to be a massive force to be reckoned with. Who knows, it might even benefit Tipsarevic by strengthening his singles game.

"Not many tennis supporters would have thought Tipsarevic could battle Federer for over four hours, but at this year’s Australian Open he did just that" Lets see, there was something called mono involved with that battle, I'd like to see Tipsarevic finish out a four hour battle on top while recovering from mono. Practically anyone could take Federer to five sets when the Tennis giant is recovering from mono. Other tennis players, when recovering from mono, take about 6 months off from the tour, I would like to point out Federer hasn't done so. Another point, who's to say that Tipsarevic and Djokovic would play well together. Just because they individually play well, doesn't mean that their games would mesh well together in the doubles arena, many singles players aren't actually good doubles players, especially those with weak net games. This is not to say that Tipsarevic is not a good player, but it's a little premature to say that the two together would be the Roger Federer of doubles.

Doubles has nothing to do with there talent in singles, they're different and need other tactics, also both of them don't have a strong net play.... Something that all mens doubles needs, consistent ground strokes and solid volleys!!

I am going to get MONO from all these Fed fanatics! If you have any memory recollection try to bring it back. What was ratio on winers versus unforced errors? If you have ever played tennis or you know what tennis is about, you will never claim that he can be sick with performance he had. I can be only mistaked if he is not a human.

While I think they would make a great doubles team, I'm sure both will continue to concentrate on singles. Besides the possibility of Novak/Janko, Serbia already has a great doubles player, Nenad Zmonjic, who will play in Beijing this summer (probably with Novak).
