What a lovely pair! Maria Sharapova and Justine Henin are double tops
The ability and skill of the two finest female tennis players would make this a dream team – just bring on the Williams sisters!

Doubles tennis is often overshadowed by the singles game. It’s an unfortunate statement as some of the best tennis I have ever watched has come in doubles matches. The volleys, passing shots, long rallies and laughter make doubles just as exciting as the individual form of the game and many top players are now playing both forms, mainly to improve their overall tennis skills.
Doubles is becoming more and more popular, especially amongst the women's elite, with players such as Svetlana Kuznetsova, Lindsay Davenport and the Williams sisters regularly playing the game. However, the team I would like to see playing together is Maria Sharapova and Justine Henin.
What a combination! Who would be able to defeat them? Neither player performs on the doubles circuit. You may argue they have no need to, but even as a practice exercise doubles could help both girls – OK, they hardly need any help! The duo would scare any opponents. Imagine staring over the net to the other side of the court and not just seeing one brilliant player in Henin, but another in Sharapova. How intimidating would that be? I would be serving double faults galore and have sweaty palms just holding my racket.
The power of Sharapova would work well with the brilliance of Henin's game. Both are not afraid to volley and pass their opponents. Henin and Sharapova would be a revelation in the doubles game and although some players would argue that doubles is a totally different game to singles tennis, the girls would be able to adapt their games accordingly. They are THAT good at what they do.

Henin and Sharapova? That would be killer. The tall the short and the one handed and two handed backhand. If they actually liked each other and had good enough strategies, they could be killer. This is almost the exact combo Hingis and Kournikova had! Seriously, those two should read this. It'd be really annoying if the world no. 1 and 2 players dominated as the world no. 1 team in women's doubles. What makes the Williams sisters intimidating on the double circuit besides their great skills and despite lack of strategy (face it, they don't play doubles too much) is their coordination. Henin and Sharapova is rhythm will certainly cause a stir Hingis and Kournikova did back nearly 10 years ago.
