Amanda Eliott and Naomi Cavaday are beginning to show their mettle - but there's still no sign of a future champion.

There are two British teenagers who have potential to be a success in the tennis world. They are hardly going to win Grand Slam events or even major tournaments but both girls seem to have an air of confidence that many before them have never been able to find.
Please welcome on to the WTA tour Amanda Elliott and Naomi Cavaday. These two girls are moving in the right direction in the rankings and although the likes of Anne Kepthavong, Mel South and Elena Baltacha are having good seasons so far, Elliott and Cavaday still have youth on their side and may be able to move into the top 100 rankings before their more senior counterparts.
Cavaday is gaining in experience all the time since bursting onto the tennis scene back in summer of 2006. She has had a few injuries in the last year which has forced her out of a few tournaments but gave a promising display at Wimbledon last year, taking Martina Hingis to three sets in a first-round encounter.
Cavaday, who is playing in a USA challenger tournament this week, looks to be getting back to her best and is already into the second round and looking to go further. Only just turned 19 years, she lies just inside the top 200 in the world and will look to push nearer the top 100 by the end of the season. The thing I like about her is that she always plays positively and has a confidence that makes her believe she can compete with the top girls.
