In 1999, Justine Henin made a definitive entry in the world of women’s tennis. In her very first professional tournament, she won the event coming in as a wild card ranked 178. That tournament was held in Antwerp, Belgium, and this year the same tournament celebrated its final year as an establishment.
Henin won the same tournament this year and that was her final tournament win before announcing her retirement. The only difference, the first one was pre-determined and came as no surprise, but the decision to quit still hasn't been fully digested.
