Dougie Freedman's late injury-time has given Leeds some hope but the 2-1 defeat at Elland Road means it is advantage Carlisle in the race for a place at Wembley in the League One play-off final. Carlisle went in front through a deflected volley from Simon Hackney and extended the lead when Marc Bridge-Wilkinson slotted home. The star of the show was Carlisle goalkeeper Keiren Westwood, who made a number of exceptional saves in the first-leg, proving why he was in the team of the season for League One. Leeds boss Gary McAllister will have to rally his troops for the visit to the Brunton Park Stadium.

Walter Smith's side play their second game in three days as they look to overhaul Celtic at the top of the SPL. The Rangers have held the advantage over St Mirren this season in both their previous games. In the second game of the season the Gers prevailed 2-0 thanks to goals from Ferguson and Cousin and in January, Burke, Boyd and a Whittaker brace saw Rangers romp to victory. However St Mirren have been in good form of late, bagging seven points from their last three games and they are unlikely to just roll over for the Rangers.

In a season where English clubs have dominated the Champions League, it is fitting that the two best teams in England will compete for the biggest prize in Europe in this Moscow final. Chelsea finally saw off Liverpool in the semi-finals after losing twice in three years at the same stage in previous years. Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard were the match winners in the second leg as Avram Grant finally moved out from the shadow of Jose Mourinho. Manchester United disposed of Barcelona in their semi-final, the key to the success was a rock-solid back line and a brilliant goal from Paul Scholes which was the difference over two games. This final could be dire like the FA Cup final between these two teams last season but with the players on show could also well be a classic. There will be a number of intriguing individual battles, much will depend on if Chelsea can keep PFA Player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo quiet, whilst United will be aiming to stop Michael Ballack who in recent games has been a driving force for the Blues.
