Founded in 2005, this outdoor clay tournament is the final chance the players have to sharpen their skills before the French Open. Expect to see some of the best players in the world, as previous champions include Venus Williams, Shahar Peer and Elena Dementieva.

Casablanca, Morocco plays host to the annual Grand Prix Hasan II, ATP Tour event. A build up tournament to the French Open, the event is played on a clay surface, providing the players with a glimpse of what lies ahead. Hopes are high that the 2008 DFS Classic will live up to what took place last year on the grass courts of Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, England. Fans lucky enough to be in the grandstands for the final match witnessed the second seeded Serbian Jelena Jankovic upset top-seeded Russian Maria Sharapova in a thrilling final clash between two of the top women player's in the world.

Spain is proud to once again host the Torneo Barcelona, which is a Tier IV event on the WTA Tour. The competition takes place outdoors on the famous Spanish red clay at the Barcelona Tennis Olimpic Club. Meghann Shaughnessy made Americans proud with her victory here in 2007 over Edina Gallovits of Romania.
